Registering a New Wallet for Staking
Open the VESPR app and head to the Explore page by tapping on the right-most tab on the bottom menu.
You will be greeted with some educational slides on the benefits of staking your ADA. When you get to the last slide, you can tap Earn with us! to stake to one of our partner pools to help support the development of VESPR, or you can tap Find a pool to search for your own pool. For the sake of this guide, we will show you the Earn with us! option.
After pressing the Earn with us! button, this screen will appear where you can review the transaction. It will display which stakepool you are about to stake to, the amount of ADA you will stake, the date you will receive your first reward distribution, estimated returns in APY, and the ADA deposit required when first registering your wallet to stake. Tap Start earning! to begin staking your ADA and earning ADA rewards.
The 2 ADA deposit is required when first registering your wallet to stake. This will be returned if you choose to de-register your wallet. Currently, VESPR does not support the de-registration of your wallet but we plan on adding this feature at a later time.
VESPR does not support partial delegation (staking only a portion of the ADA in your wallet) at this time.
The success screen will display the stake pool you just staked to. Tap OK to go to the main Rewards dashboard.
The Rewards dashboard will show you when your first reward distribution will occur, the total rewards earned for your wallet, how much ADA is staked, the APY you are currently earning based on the last 10 reward distributions, the stake pool you are staked to, and the current phase of each epoch.
Each "epoch" is a 5-day period during which blocks are produced and transactions added to the blockchain.
